Season 1

SFR1 season one has been some ten years in the works. This all eventuated from: interning and printing t-shirts in Richmond, Virginia; learning to sew DIY, moving to Melbourne, Australia to study tailoring/technical fashion design, and countless trips to Manila, Philippines apprenticing under a master pattern maker of fine leather goods.

The collection, originally entitled Poise - is a play on multiple areas of inspriation. Poise is reference to ‘porpoise’: the categorisation of the critically endangered Vaquita (phocoena sinus). The title is also a reference to the notion that this body of work is more complete, balanced and mature than anything I have attempted previously.

From a tactile perspective, the collection features natural fibres, including Australian Merino wool and cashmere, waterproof cotton, and leather - and contrasted by additions of nylon and recycled polyester.

Aesthetically, cues are taken from my background skateboarding and early streetwear influences, and coupled with my training in tailoring and technical construction. Travel, luxury, androgyny, and versatility are at the heart of this collection, and. hope you may find a way to connect with one way or another.
